Working from the Beach, Conclusions

Hi,
Back home now; all in all my working away from home was a success, but once again confirmed that you are more vulnerable to disasters. It's obvious really at your home base you likely have spare cables, old monitors, you can't take all that with you. This time my not very old monitor just died, and a short piece of USB cable inexplicably failed. Luckily there was a PC shop not too far. Now I rely on a wonderful service called GOTOMYPC to remotely access my Home PC via the Internet. This means I have access to everything I need, all my data and programs. My remote PC just becomes a console. However after a few days of successful working the broadband connection to my home office, went down. So I had to painfully rebuild my applications on my vacation PC, I had just finished when BT kindly restored my broadband. I was also disappointed that I couldn't make myself get early so I could finish early, I'll have to work on that next year!

Your Success Diary and ANTs

Hi
Do you know about your terrible ANTs? These are Automatic Negative Thoughts that come from your inner critic, I'll never come to anything, I always lose out etc. Over anxious parents and schoolteachers practically teach us to be afraid of life.

ANTs are made worse by the fact that we tend to remember our failures, more than our successes! We replay our failures a 100 times in our heads.

One excellent way to defeat the ANTS is to keep a success diary. Mine is just a list with a single line for every success preceded by the date.

Start a Success Diary today and you will be amazed how much stuff you get right.

Get your Success Diary out when you are feeling discouraged and you will be boosted.

I list some of my entries just so you get the idea. First the rules, there is only one rule, you MUST NOT discount any success. If you win a prize do not say well only a few entered (that's one of those dratty ANTs!!)

Working on Holiday, Everyone's Dream

Hi,
Nearly everyone dreams of working and living in a holiday location, it should easy for me as an Internet based homeworker. The idea is that you go for a swim in the ocean before beginning your day.

I am trialling this life this summer vacation. There are a few difficulties: we are getting up very late, which throws off my plan of working like mad in the morning so that I can enjoy the late afternoon and evening. There are technical hitches as well, today my borrowed PC Monitor died, just like that. I've already replaced the mouse, and installed a virus checker. On the plus side I use a marvelous service called GOTOMYPC to remotely access my Home PC via the Internet. This means I have access to everything I need, all my data and programs. My remote PC just becomes a console. I use GOTOMYPC to access my PC from CyberCafes, friends' PCs etc, pick up my email, deal with any orders etc. Before I had GOTOMYPC I used to try and copy my files to a laptop, but always found I've forgotten something vital.

You can get a months free trial to GOTOMYPC by clicking here, it's essential for me as a home worker and allows me to blog you from the beach!

ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) Costs Billions!

U.S. household income losses due to (ADHD) total nearly $77 billion each year, according to a new analysis of the national large-scale survey,
"Capturing America's Attention," presented today at the American Psychiatric Association (APA) annual meeting in Atlanta.

"The same ADHD symptoms that may cause young patients
to perform poorly in school or miss classes may also
cause these patients, as adults, to lose a significant
amount of income each year....

Over eight million adult Americans, or 4.3 percent
of working-age adults, struggle with the inattention,
impulsivity and hyperactivity of ADHD.

Strangely enough some of the most successful people suffer(ed) from ADHD, but they have learnt to either conquer it or better use it!!

Binaural Beats (Actually Programs Your Brain)

Hi,
As a home-worker I'm always on the look out for motivational aids, and my endless searchings of the blogosphere have come up with The Astonishing New Technology That Actually Programs Your Brain!

"I have been listening to binaural beats and I absolutely love them ... you will
notice a profound effect on your health."

Are you interested in the idea of programming your mind to achieve greater creativity - by using music? As amazing as it may sound, with the latest Binaural Beat technology, it can really be done - quickly and easily!

It has been discovered that certain brainwave frequencies associated with desirable states of mind - such as creativity, relaxation and resourcefulness - can actually be induced, or recreated, with the right kind of music!

Well some of that's blurb from the website , but I like these binaural beats and you can listen to free samples by clicking here
