I'm reading Napoleon Hill's lesser known book "A Year of Growing Rich" and was astonished to learn that in his youth he had been a trouble maker. His religious widowed father tried to beat it out of him which only made him worse. He was saved by the love he received from his step-mother when his father re-married. So that's where he learnt so much about failure and success.
