He has for the first time cataloged, reviewed and summarized the top fifty books on each of these sectors and made these available in his famous 50 Classic book series. These allow to select which of the well known works from Stephen Covey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

I’ve always known that it’s best if important things have their own place, passports, tools and so on. What I’ve only recently realised is that really everything should have an exact place, I mean not just on a particular shelf but a precise spot on that shelf. It may seem rather boorish to be so clinical but the alternative is wasted time searching with attendant frustration. I have probably wasted months of my life looking for keys, erasers, flashlights, sports equipment, worse I have probably abandoned projects or ventures simply because I couldn’t find a vital document.

Can you pass the following test? Can you get up now and find your keys, wallet, camera, flashlight and passport with your eyes SHUT?

The other advantage of things having their own exact place is that you will realize much more quickly that an item has gone missing.

As you may know I am very enthusiastic about Squidoo anyway I was desperate to think of an idea for a new lens when I hit upon the idea of trying to decide how I’d thought of my existing lens. I was astonished to find that I didn’t know , I’d had ideas my subconsciously. I decided I wanted to try and capture the moment an idea appeared , determined what had seeded the idea and finally learn how to create more and better ideas, in short to become an ideas factory! I created this blog to map my journey to the brilliant idea. But my actual ideas website is here at Creating More Brilliant Ideas and now it is up for an award Best Potential Giant Squid please vote for it here

We must always seek to find better quicker ways to do things. The most precious resource of all is TIME,
in order to succeed we have to try to get leverage in every thing we do.

How do we get leverage?

We can train people to do our work if we have a skill

We can learn to have the courage to delegate (trust your co-workers)

If we are a writer we can turn a text into a blog, into an ezine article or an audio-recording

We can invest in the right equipment and training

Many who could have been/should have been successful simply exhausted themselves trying to do everything themselves. Rather we should EXHAUST ourselves trying to think of EASIER,QUICKER,MORE EFFICIENT ways to get things DONE. There is no longer any credit in just being a work donkey we should rather think like Tom Sawyer who gets people to pay him for painting Tom’s own fence!!

The best ever Time Management Tool which is also simple to use is ACTION ENFORCER

Do you have a Jekyll and Hide character? Are there days when you are the Good Dr Jekyll , just get on with work and tasks, where you deal with problems effortlessly and do you have lackluster Mr Hyde days when you can’t even decide which job to start. I have been using Action Enforcer to help me with my Mr Hyde days, I only really need it get going as I know once I get a few jobs completed my energy levels will increase. Action Enforcer obliges you to choose one task and then stick to it. It works because it’s very easy to use and becomes a kind of psychological supervisor setting you a self-defined deadline.

More and more working people whether home-workers or not have to be self-motivating have tasks that need completing but have no direct supervision just an expectation that work will be done. Students studying for distant examinations or writers with a delivery date may be months away are in the same boat. They become more and more anxious as time is frittered away. In all these cases Action Enforcer is a boon learn more by clicking here

It is said that we are all marketers, that we market ourselves at a job interview, when seeking a partner. If you are in business you must be a marketer 24 hours a day. The essential thing in all of these things is to have a pitch ready, that ‘s an interesting and convincing description of your product or service. A briefer version is called an elevator pitch. Have you got yours ready? Consider going to a speed marketing evening where you get 60 seconds to promote your business to polish your spiel.

Treated properly they are a Business or Life Plan for the next 12 months. Try to have resolutions in different areas such as social,health/fitness,adventure,learning,qualifications.

One of the reasons you probably didn’t keep your resolutions in previous years was because you didn’t pick achievable and most importantly relevant ones! Please don’t just drift into another year!

I’m still working mine out but here’s my first

Learn Speed reading

Learn to sit down at Desk and be immediately productive

Finally crawl without pausing

Walk Ridgeway end to end

Researchers from University College London studied the brains of 105 people – 80 of whom were bilingual.

They found learning other languages altered grey matter – the area of the brain which processes information – in the same way exercise builds muscles.

Scientists already know the brain has the ability to change its structure as a result of stimulation – an effect known as plasticity – but this research demonstrates how learning languages develops it.

A similar effect occurs if you learn a musical instrument.

The younger you develop these “extra compartments” in your brain the better so you have to find a way of convincing your children of the multiple and long lasting benefits of learning a foreign language or a mucical instrument.
